It’s an awesome indoor flyer and can handle some wind outdoor too!
You can make it any size you want, it’ll fly!

Just wanted to let you know:

I had a scorpion esc 55A for 2 weeks, it did a perfect job.
2 days ago I connected the battery and the ESC made alot of smoke :s
I checked all things but I don’t think I did something wrong. I used this esc/motor on a foamie so it was overkill. I never got over 30 amps I think.

I went back to the shop … and you know what, I got a new one from scorpion. ONLY 2 DAYS AFTER IT DIED.  That’s service.!!

So for all who wants to buy a new esc or motor buy one from scorpion !!!

Awesome plane to do combat-fights ! This plane is very tough and will right itself if knocked out of the sky.
You can fly this in your backyard too. Very nice design.

It’s built out of 6mm depron, a few pieces of 1/16 ply which are used for the control horns and motor mount and a few pieces of .035x.236 carbon strip for the spars.

A very good looking parkjet that is good for 3D, slow flying, high-alpha, …

Length: 30″ with motor and prop.
Wingspan: 28″
AUW: 17oz
Power: 2212-06 motor, 30A ESC, 3S 2100mAh 20C (about 230W with a 5.5×4.5 prop)
Paint Scheme: Ukraine SU-27 in honor of my dearly departed Flanker (see my blog).
Paint Used: Anita’s All Purpose Acrylic Craft Paint from Hobby Lobby. Finished off with several coats of Minwax Semi-Gloss Polycrylic spray (blue can).
Speed: 134.43kph / 83.53mph (Fastest Doppler result to date).
Canards: Functional via custom mixing with the delta program in my DX7

Here are the demonstration videos. I think it’s a pretty good representation of the performance envelope of this aircraft. Fast, slow, vertical, glides, etc. I hope you enjoy it.

A strong,simple and easy to build plane.
As you can see in the video this plane can handle high speeds

The specs:
Wingspan is 26″
Length is 21″
Flying weight 10.8 oz’s (3s setup)

My initial power system:
With this setup I was able to get the “Speedy” up to 91.4 mph staight away.
Motor: 3000kv
Prop: 4.5×4.5
ESC: 30 amp
Battery: 3s 1300mah 20c lipo
Servos: Hitec 55’s or comparable

My 120 mph setup:
Motor: 3000kv
Prop: 4.1×4.1
ESC: 40 amp
Battery: 2 – 2s 1300mah 20c lipos to make a 4s pack

Foam: 6mm depron or Fanfold blue foam

A strong and easy to build plane.
This plane is very stable because of the wing shape, this makes it a perfect trainer!
If anything goes wrong just release the sticks and it will balance itself. Be sure to make it a bit nose-heavy, if it’s tail heavy you can expect problems
Use inexpensive bamboo skewers to stiffen up the plane, this makes it very strong.

If you’re using light lipo’s make the nose 1″ or 2″ longer for proper balance!More info @ rcgroups forum!
